Finally, the other out-of-print HeartattaCk issues have been posted to the Punk Zine Archive. There are a total of 33 issues on the site now. Enjoy!

This should help locate specific topics in the zines because the custom Google search doesn't always work the way it should due to the varied fonts that zines used over the years.

Jersey Beat

Jim from Jersey Beat gave me permission to post issues of his zine to the Punk Zine Archive, so watch for those in September. There's a site update that will be showing later this month (if things go as planned).

Forced Exposure Zine

Jimmy Johnson got back to me earlier today about posting old Forced Exposure zines to the Punk Zine Archive. They are going to publish a book at some point, so the request was denied. Watch for the book!

For those who are interested, this is the primary reason other zines haven't been posted to the archive.

I found a cool interview with Flipside in Ink Disease from years ago. It's got Al Kowalewski (AKA "Al Flipside") and the crew talking about the history of Flipside fanzine and the reasons for starting it.

More Flipside Issues Posted

I’m working on a possible deal to get all of the first 10 issues of Flipside posted to the Punk Zine Archive, but it’s still a work in process. I’ll be posting more information as it becomes available.

There will be 7 new Flipside issues posted to the site over the next few hours: #8, #12, #16, #18, #20, #22, and #23. The early Flipside issues had layouts that were very chaotic, which made them more interesting to the eye in my opinion, but that also makes them more difficult to separate into different sections for the site.

Ripper zine?

I tracked down Tim Tonooka, who published Ripper fanzine. He was on MySpace of all places. I had a few requests to post issues of Ripper to the Punk Zine Archive, and if I remember correctly, I think Aaron Cometbus cited the zine as one of his old favorites.

Anyway, Tim didn't respond to my email, so it looks like Ripper won't be posted to the site. In the past, I've tried to follow up with zine publishers who don't reply just to make sure my initial email wasn't accidentally deleted, but it has never changed the outcome.
